what really annoys me about this shit isn’t so much that the money-hungry filmmakers make these choices, because seriously who thinks of “integrity” when they think of jerry bruckheimer? but the big-deal, respected, supposedly leftist actors who take these roles? that shit pisses me off. it’s not like jake gyllenhall needed this paycheck THAT BAD. it’s not like playing this character is going to help his career that much (isn’t it actually just going to make him look like a douche?). if the powers that be in hollywood who constantly pretend to be “progressives” actually stopped being complicit in this shit, wouldn’t it have to stop??
